Michael Carrick is potentially running out of time at Manchester United, with the club eyeing up another manager.
Unlike the former England international, this coach has proven beyond doubt that he has what it takes to win the Premier League.
Manchester United want Antonio Conte to replace Michael Carrick
When Michael Carrick came in last January, he took Manchester United from the depths of despair to a club that looked capable of mixing with the best in Europe once more.
Alas, the 2026/27 campaign certainly hasn’t been ideal for the gaffer. His club have only won one of four Premier League matches, with the pressure certainly intensifying.
The most recent defeat, which came against a ten-man Manchester City, was nothing short of devastating, with Italian media now claiming that the English team is on the hunt for a new manager to lead the squad forward.
According to September 15’s print edition of Corriere della Sera, as relayed by SportWitness and CalcioMercato, Antonio Conte is the man the club most desires.
The former Chelsea boss guided ‘The Blues’ to Premier League glory back in 2016/17, making him a proven entity in England’s top flight.
The Italian is currently without a managerial role, since leaving Napoli at the end of the 2025/26 season.
According to reports, the tactical mastermind is waiting for the correct project to make his comeback.
JJ Gabriel eyes up new club after pushing for Manchester United exit
The run of results isn’t the only thing for United fans to be sad about at the moment.
JJ Gabriel is keen to leave the struggling side.
And the prospect already has another location in mind.
Interestingly, Gabriel wants to leave Manchester United for another Premier League club.
