Michael Carrick was put on the spot about Manchester United potentially signing Carlos Baleba.
The talented player has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with a deal now reportedly agreed.
Michael Carrick avoids Carlos Baleba question
Going into the clash with Hull, Manchester United were expected to produce an emphatic performance, reminding the newly-promoted side exactly what it’s like to play in the Premier League.
However, Hull refused to merely make up the numbers, putting on a display which shocked the footballing world.
From the moment the match kicked off, it was clear the underdogs meant business, with Semi Ajayi bagging the first goal after just 17 minutes before Nobel Mendy later secured the second.
WOW: Why didn’t Amad Diallo play for Manchester United in tough loss against Hull?
Unfortunately for the favourites, they simply couldn’t find a way past the Hull defence, ultimately succumbing to a 2-0 defeat.
Of course, the result wasn’t ideal, but signing Carlos Baleba would undoubtedly soften the blow. However, despite rumours that his medical was scheduled for today, Michael Carrick refused to give an update on what’s going on with the talented footballer.
During a post-match interview with TNT Sports, the manager said: “I had all eyes on this today, so any other player at any other club, unless he’s ours, it’s not for me to comment on. If there’s anything to be announced on any player, I’m sure you’ll be the first to know.”
