Amad Diallo couldn’t play for Manchester United against Hull because of an injury

Going into the match today, Manchester United were expected to blow Hull out of the water in emphatic fashion. However, the newly-promoted side refused to follow the script, producing a performance that surprised everyone.

Just 17 minutes into the match, Semi Ajayi found the first goal for Hull, before Nobel Mendy bagged the second.

For the rest of the game, United failed to produce clear-cut chances, with the Yorkshire club holding on until the end of the fixture.

With such a poor performance, the side could’ve done with Amad Diallo. Alas, he couldn’t feature today due to an injury.

In an interview with MUTV, Michael Carrick explained: “He just picked up a niggle right at the end of the week, in training. We’ll assess that and see where he’s at.

“Hopefully, it won’t be too long, but we’ll have to wait and see. He was in a good place, Amad.

“He was looking sharp and obviously looking forward to the season, so it’s disappointing but, unfortunately, that’s part of it. We’ve got the squad that we can cope with it, so we’ve got to keep moving and, hopefully, we’ll get Amad back soon.”

Harry Maguire slammed for marking Manchester United teammate

When Hull opened the scoring, Harry Maguire was doing some questionable defending.

While the centre-back played relatively well during the game, there was no denying this was a bizarre decision.

For some reason, Maguire marked his Manchester United teammate during Hull’s first goal.
