Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of France international attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, according to the club’s official statement. The 24-year-old becomes the French champions’ first major acquisition of the summer transfer window.
The two Ligue 1 giants were locked in negotiations for several weeks before reaching an agreement for the playmaker, according to Get French Football News. While the clubs have not officially disclosed the financial terms, the transfer is worth a €50m fee according to Fabrizio Romano via PSG Talk. Akliouche was seen travelling to the capital earlier today to complete the final formalities of the move.
Upon signing his contract at the Parc des Princes, the midfielder expressed his delight at the move. “Rejoining this prestigious club is an honour,” Akliouche told the official PSG website. The arrival of the creative talent marks a significant step in Luis Enrique’s squad rebuilding process as they look to maintain their dominance in French football.
Elsewhere in Ligue 1, Saïdou Sow has completed a loan move from RC Strasbourg to FC Nantes, according to Get French Football News. The deal for the 24-year-old centre-back includes an option to buy, marking a return to Les Canaris for the defender.
