Michael Carrick says Manchester United need to be careful with JJ Gabriel
JJ Gabriel looks like a star for the future, with the wonderkid dazzling fans with his sensational skills.
However, while it looks like he could become a Manchester United legend should he choose, it seems like he’s determined to head elsewhere.
The prospect has sent a formal notice to cancel his registration with the team, with the teenager wanting to become a free agent.
Currently, United look like a sinking ship, with the formerly great side suffering yet another humiliating loss tonight against Brighton and Hove Albion.
After securing a two-goal lead, the Premier League giants fell apart, ultimately losing 3-2 to crash out of the Carabao Cup.
Following the match, Michael Carrick was asked about the situation with Gabriel.
Rather than revealing exactly what’s going on, the manager explained why the club needs to act with caution.
He told Sky Sports: “I think we’ve got to be a little bit careful on that one. He’s a 15-year-old boy, and it’s more about the welfare and care of JJ. He’s a young man. The situation is what it is. But we’ve got to be careful about the exposure and how much we jump on that.”
