Rolando Dy names the boxing legend he wants to face after demolishing Scott McHugh at BKB 60

EXCLUSIVE: Rolando Dy has called for a monstrous showdown with a former boxing world champion.

On Saturday night, the Filipino produced an incredible performance, stopping Scott McHugh in the third round at BKB 60 inside the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, UK.

Rolando Dy calls out Victor Ortiz

After completing his demolition job against McHugh, Rolando Dy was joined in the Trigon by Adel Altamimi, with the pair engaging in a heated back-and-forth, leaving fans desperate to see the titans settle their differences inside the Trigon.

However, the reigning super welterweight champion would much rather take on Victor Ortiz.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, Dy exclaimed: “I want that more than Adel Altamimi. Who is Adel? He’s not a world champion of MMA or boxing; he’s just a rich man who wants to do something—he’s a nobody. He’s not Victor Ortiz, and he’s not me; I’m a former UFC fighter and champion of UAE Warriors. Nobody has protected me. I don’t like the idea of entering the same Trigon as Adel; it’s an insult to my skills. I want Ortiz. Every time you fight, you risk your life, and I want to risk my life fighting Victor, not someone who is flat-footed and a loudmouth like Adel. I don’t like him, and I don’t want to work with him. I want to fight Victor.”

While Dy has made no secret of his desire to share the Trigon with Ortiz, ‘Vicious’ already has a fight booked against Paulie Malignaggi, meaning the warrior might have to take on Altamimi first to get to the former WBC welterweight world champion. However, while the rivalry is reaching boiling point, Dy doesn’t think his nemesis will offer much of a test.

The power puncher explained: “I’m not trying to brag; I’m a son of Jesus Christ and a saved person, who wants to show humility, but in all honesty, we saw how Adel got dropped by someone who is not on my level. He is flat-footed, stiff as a board; I’m not mocking him, I’m just telling the truth. He will suffer a brutal defeat if he faces me. He has a glass jaw; every time he is touched, he goes down. In his last two fights, he’s been in survival mode.

“The moment I hurt him, I will finish him. He’s never fought anyone of the calibre of the people I’ve defeated. But I will fight anyone. If you want me to fight Adel for free money, I will do it. I don’t like the guy.
