Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not hold back in expressing his feelings about an England player.
‘The Three Lions’ bounced back from behind to defeat Norway 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic slates Noni Madueke
Norway had proven everybody wrong throughout the competition. In a moment that the Nordic nation will never forget, they overcame Brazil to render the world stunned. And against ‘The Three Lions’, the underdogs threatened to pull off another historic upset. In the 36th minute, Andreas Schjelderup scored a goal that left Harry Kane furious.
However, Norway couldn’t maintain the lead, with Jude Bellingham finding the equaliser shortly after.
The teams went into the break all square at 1-1. And during the half-time analysis, Zlatan Ibrahimovic took aim at Noni Madueke, with the Swede heavily criticising his display.
During the Fox Sports broadcast, he said: “I think they’re playing with one player less. I have to say, every time he gets the ball, he makes the wrong decision. He is walking on the pitch. He has done nothing in the first 45 minutes; even the hydration break didn’t help him.”

Luckily, despite Ibrahimovic’s comments, Madueke will return to his hotel room, having been part of a special England victory.
And he owes it all to one player.
