Carlos Baleba has signed for Manchester United, but is he playing against Ipswich Town?
After a loss against Hull, the Premier League giants want to get back to winning ways at Old Trafford.
Carlos Baleba won’t play for Manchester United against Ipswich Town
Carlos Baleba is not in the Manchester United squad to play Ipswich Town, with fans keen to witness him make his debut, having to wait for that special moment.
The talented player has a pre-existing ankle injury that has prevented him from making an appearance this afternoon.
Prior to the match, Michael Carrick confirmed the news as well as giving an update on his recovery, saying: “He’s got a little ankle issue, so maybe a couple of weeks or so, maybe three weeks.”
The manager was fully aware of the situation before the club got the £70 million signing over the line, confirming: “We knew that before, so it’s no major issue, but it’ll be great to have him back when we can.”
It’s currently unclear on whether the star will make his first appearance for the club before the international break, with Carrick explaining: “It’s obviously new, the break to deal with, but we’ll wait and see… I don’t want to put any deadlines on it just yet.”
Regardless, both Carrick and the player himself are thrilled for the future. The gaffer enthused: “We’re delighted to have Carlos… huge potential, massive potential. I think he’s a really exciting signing for us.”
The former United player is adamant that his new signing is very special, claiming: “The quality that he has, the attributes that he has… offsets a little bit of the balance of the group that we’ve got. Different strengths, different combinations.”
