Jordan Henderson received oxygen after suffering an injury following Mexico vs England.
In an incredible moment, ‘The Three Lions’ triumphed 3-2 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico.
Jordan Pickford fell over following Mexico vs England
Going into tonight, England knew they were in for a serious challenge. Not only is the host’s stadium 7220 feet above sea level, but they also have a seriously impressive record on home turf. Ahead of the match, Mexico had only lost to two teams at the Azteca.
However, Thomas Tuchel’s men refused to fall short. After Jude Bellignham scored two goals, Mexico hit back. In the second half, Harry Kane converted a spotkick before their opposition reduced the deficit to one once again.
Mexico did everything in their power to turn things around, but England simply wouldn’t let them, fending off every attack until the full-time whistle to walk away from the venue with a 3-2 win.
Of course, once the match was over, England started to celebrate. But that’s when disaster struck with Jordan Henderson suffering a fall.
After the England captain briefly discussed what happened, Kelly Cates provided more detail during the BBC broadcast.
She explained: “Harry Kane says he’s absolutely fine, but he did fall over the advertising hoardings, and it looked like he was getting some oxygen as he was being stretchered off the pitch.”
Jude Bellingham later added: “He’s in a bit of bother, but our medical team have got everything under control. It’s probably best not to give too much detail when I don’t really know too much about what’s going on, but everyone was there to support him, and that was a beautiful thing to see.”
Tuchel confessed: “He’s not good. Jordan just fell over and injured his wrist. It looks really bad.”
