Kyle Walker raged at Pep Guardiola

During his time at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola achieved amazing things, from winning six Premier League titles, to guiding the club to its picking up its first-ever Champions League trophy.

The Spaniard is undeniably a football genius, with the manager renowned for building almost invincible teams. However, while he generally has a good relationship with his players, on occasion, things have turned sour, with the former midfielder and Kyle Walker once engaging in a heated confrontation.

The new Amazon Prime documentary, A Beautiful Obsession, which covers the gaffer’s last two years with the Premier League side, captured the moment.

While Guardiola won significantly more matches than he lost, he also had his fair share of disappointing moments, with a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool leaving him on edge.

Footage captured Guardiola saying: “When the ball comes to Kyle, he has to know that if you lose the ball, it’s a goal.”

This prompted an angry reaction from the defender, who fired back: “You keep saying my name in every meeting.”

The gaffer replied: “I said the concept, Kyle.”

But this didn’t calm the right-back down, who shouted: “F— sake. Every f—— meeting it’s my name.”

Defending himself, Guardiola exclaimed: “Maybe because you’re our captain. I said to Josko Gvardiol the name; it’s just to improve.”

An enraged Walker argued: “You didn’t want me to be your captain. Somehow you bring my name into it.”

The managerial legend concluded: “If you take it personally, Kyle, I’m sorry. After nine years together, in the good moments and bad moments, it’s my defeat.”

Following the verbal spar, a visibly emotional Guardiola told his squad: “If I am a problem, you have to tell me. I won’t stay here for the money or just for the fact of staying. I extended my contract because I want to be with you. I want to fight. I don’t want you to feel like I’m leaving or running away.”
